Born near San Diego, CA; educated at USC. He started out editing films at MGM and Republic Studios, then moved to Disney in the late 1950s. He remained there for the rest of his career and cut such features for Disney as THE SIGN OF ZORRO (1958); THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR (1961); SON OF FLUBBER and MIRACLE OF THE WHITE STALLIONS (both 1963); MARY POPPINS and EMIL AND THE DETECTIVES (both 1964); THAT DARN CAT! (1965); THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE (1967); THE LOVE BUG (1968); THE COMPUTER WORE TENNIS SHOES (1969); THE BOATNIKS (1970); BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS (1971); HERBIE RIDES AGAIN (1974); FREAKY FRIDAY (1976); HERBIE GOES TO THE MOON (1977); and THE CAT FROM OUTER SPACE (1978).
