Born in Birmingham, AL. With no prior acting experience Badham won the role of Gregory Peck's tomboy daughter, Scout, in TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962) over 2,000 other applicants and won praise and a supporting actress Oscar® nomination for her naturalistic, unaffected performance. Badham only appeared in two other films, THIS PROPERTY IS CONDEMNED and LET'S KILL UNCLE (both 1966) and on TV episodes of "Dr. Kildare" and "Twilight Zone" before retiring from the screen and moving to a Virginia farm.
