Samuel E. Beetley
(1913 - 1988)

Began cutting films at RKO in 1937. Worked a lot in television in the 50s and early 60s, then returned to film with THE LONGEST DAY (1962). Other notable (non-nominated) credits include THE VISIT (1964); THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY (1965); and SOYLENT GREEN (1973). He returned to TV in the early 70s and continued working in that medium until his retirement in 1982.
