Hello, Dolly! (1969)
Born Raphael G. Beugnon in Paris, France. Came to Hollywood in 1944 to be technical advisor on O.S.S. (1946); served in the O.S.S. in WW II and received the Distinguished Service Cross and the French Croix de Guerre. Staff art director at NBC 1955-1958; set decorator 1959-1982, worked on more than 40 films, including 4 FOR TEXAS, 1963; ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS, 1964; VON RYAN'S EXPRESS and OUR MAN FLINT, both 1965; HOMBRE and VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, both 1967; THE BOSTON STRANGLER, 1968; ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER and THE GREAT WHITE HOPE, both 1970; THE MEPHISTO WALTZ and THE SEVEN MINUTES, both 1971; THE LONGEST YARD (uncredited), 1974; ISLANDS IN THE STREAM, THE CHOIRBOYS, and THE OTHER SIDE OF MIDNIGHT, both 1977. After 1978, he worked mainly in television. He retired in 1982.
