Entered American film as an uncredited aerial photographer for Howard Hughes' HELL'S ANGELS (1930) and 2nd asst. camera for HYPNOTIZED (1932). Worked as a camera operator at Universal on TOWER OF LONDON, 1939. Returned to Universal after WW II and was second camera on THE NAUGHTY NINETIES, 1945. In the early 1950s, he worked for Jack Webb in television ("Dragnet" and "The Public Defender") and continued with Mark VII on the movie version of the DRAGNET TV show (1954), THE D.I. (1957), and -30- (1959). Meanwhile, he started working for Disney, first in television ("Texas John Slaughter," 1958), then in features (THE SHAGGY DOG, 1959; THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR and BABES IN TOYLAND, both 1961; and 15 other features), culminating in THE LOVE BUG, 1968, after which he retired from the business.
