Alexander Courage

Born in Philadelphia, PA. Familiarly known and referred to as Sandy Courage. Perhaps best remembered as the composer of the theme music for the TV series "Star Trek," he composed additional music for all the STAR TREK motion picutres and spin-off TV series. Also composed music for many other TV series ("National Velvet," 1960; "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," 1964; "Daniel Boone," 1964; "Lost in Space," 1965; "The Loner," 1965; "Judd for the Defense," 1967; "Land of the Giants," 1968; "The Waltons," 1972; "Apple's Way," 1974; and "Eight Is Enough," 1977).

He composed original film scores for SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROCK, 1956; THE LEFT HANDED GUN and TOKYO AFTER DARK, both 1959; FOLLOW THE BOYS, 1963; THE PLEASURE SEEKERS, 1964; DOCTOR DOLITTLE, 1967.
