Started in British films as production designer on CHANCE OF A LIFETIME (1950) for British Lion Film Corp. Hurley had a long, but not prolific, career in the art department and as art director or production designer in films. Only other credits, besides PSYCHO, are AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS (set designer, London, 1956); GAILY, GAILY (sketch artist, 1969); CINDERELLA LIBERTY (production illustrator, 1973); HARRY AND WALTER GO TO NEW YORK (production illustrator, 1976); THE CHINA SYNDROME (art department, 1979); ALTERED STATES (illustrator, 1980); THE POSTMAN ALWAYS RINGS TWICE (ass't art director, 1981); CANNERY ROW (illustrator, 1982).
