Born in New York City. Started out writing for television in 1952 ("My Little Margie," 1952; "Bachelor Father," 1957; "How to Marry a Millionaire," 1957; "The Ann Sothern Show," 1958; "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," 1959). Then he moved into screenwriting and producing for films in 1962: REACH FOR GLORY (1962, also producer); SIEGE OF THE SAXONS (1963); THE COLLECTOR (also producer, 1965); THE STRANGE VENGEANCE OF ROSALIE (1972); THEATRE OF BLOOD (idea & producer, 1973); GOLDEN GIRL (1979); RACING WITH THE MOON (producer only, 1984) and SHANGHAI SURPRISE (writer & producer, 1986).
