Born in Geneva, IL; brother-in-law of editor Roy V. Livingston. GRAND PRIX (1966) was his first feature where he was billed as editor. That same year, he was assistant editor on SECONDS; he also assisted on CATCH-22 (1970) and CARNAL KNOWLEDGE (1971). He became the editor for Barry Levenson's films, starting with DINER (1982), and has cut all Levenson's features since then.
