Josie MacAvin
(1919 - 2005)

Born in Ireland. Entered Irish films as a set decorator for SHAKE HANDS WITH THE DEVIL (1959). Other notable (non-nominated) credits include A TERRIBLE BEAUTY (1960), RYAN'S DAUGHTER (1970), HEAVEN'S GATE (1980), EDUCATING RITA and THE DRESSER (both 1983), THE DEAD and LIONHEART (both 1987), DA (1988), DIARY OF A MADMAN and THE FIELD (both 1990), FAR AND AWAY (1992), MICHAEL COLLINS (1996), THE BUTCHER BOY (1997), and EVELYN (2002). She also worked extensively in television.
