Born in London, England. Director, producer, and writer working mainly in television. Feature film directing credits include UP JUMPED A SWAGMAN (1965), an adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's THE VIRGIN AND THE GYPSY (1970), Jean Anouilh's A TIME FOR LOVING (1971), Jean Genet's THE MAIDS (1974, also screenplay), THAT LUCKY TOUCH (1975, with Roger Moore, Susannah York, Shelley Winters & Lee J. Cobb), PRIEST OF LOVE (1981, with Ian McKellen, Janet Suzman, Ava Gardner & Penelope Keith - also producer), and THE CLANDESTINE MARRIAGE (1999). He was production manager for Bryan Izzard's feature JULIE AND THE CADILLACS (1999).

Miles' short film credits include SIX-SIDED TRIANGLE (1963), which featured his older sister, Sarah Miles, and RHYTHM 'N' GREEN (1964, also writer), with Robert Morley.

In television, Miles worked extensively as a production manager: "In Dreams" (1992); the 1993 TV series "Chef!"; and "Goodnight Sweetheart" (1995). He produced and directed "Lord Elgin and Some Stones of No Value" (1986), and he wrote, produced and directed "Love in the Ancient World" (1997)
