Entered British films as an associate/assistant film editor for HOBSON'S CHOICE (1954). Was an uncredited associate film editor on A KID FOR TWO FARTHINGS (1955) and LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962) and edited, among others, THE WILD AFFAIR (1963), DOCTOR ZHIVAGO (1965), THREE BITES OF THE APPLE (1967), PRUDENCE AND THE PILL (1968), THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE (1969), RYAN'S DAUGHTER (1970), and LADY CAROLINE LAMB (1972). Savage worked as a sound editor on THE CHALLENGE and MAN IN THE MOON (both 1960). Subsequent sound editing credits include THE SECRET PARTNER (1961) and STRAW DOGS (1971).  Nominated for Film Editing 1965: DOCTOR ZHIVAGO 1 nomination
