King Rat (1965) Began as art director at Universal-International on THE MOLE PEOPLE (1956) and worked on several "B" films. Other notable art director credits (alone or in collaboration) include THE CREATURE WALKS AMONG US (1956), SLAUGHTER ON TENTH AVENUE, INTERLUDE and THE MONOLITH MONSTERS (all 1957), LIVE FAST, DIE YOUNG, GIRLS ON THE LOOSE, THE SAGA OF HEMP BROWN and TONKA (all 1958), NO NAME ON THE BULLET and OPERATION PETTICOAT (both 1959), LONELY ARE THE BRAVE (1962), BRAINSTORM (1965), HOMBRE and THE FLIM-FLAM MAN (both 1967), SKIDOO (1968), SMITH! (1969), and his last film, THE DUCHESS AND THE DIRTWATER FOX (1976).

Smith was production designer for KING RAT (1965), GENERATION (1969), RIO LOBO (1970), and two made-for-TV movies: "Goodbye, Raggedy Ann" (1971) and "Pursuit" (1972).
