Bill Walsh
(1914 - 1975)

Born in New York City; educated at the University of Cincinnati. A former newspaper reporter and magazine writer, he produced and co-scripted Walt Disney TV programs in the early 50s, then produced or wrote, or both, a string of commercially successful Disney feature films. Produced DAVY CROCKETT, KING OF THE WILD FRONTIER (1954), THE SHAGGY DOG (1959, associate producer and writer), THE ABSENT-MINDED PROFESSOR (1961, associate producer and writer), THE LOVE BUG (1968, also writer), BEDKNOBS AND BROOMSTICKS (1971, also writer), HERBIE RIDES AGAIN (1974, also writer). He wrote THE LITTLEST OUTLAW (1955) and THAT DARN CAT! (1965).

He had a plaque outside his Encino, CA, home dedicating it to a cat [in reference to THAT DARN CAT! (1965)]. After 32 years with Disney, and shortly after his return from filming ONE OF OUR DINOSAURS IS MISSING in London, Walsh died in Los Angeles on January 27, 1975. He was inducted as a Disney Legend in 1991.
