Costume designer for British film productions from 1966 (Daniel Petrie's THE IDOL and THE SPY WITH A COLD NOSE). Other notable (non-nominated) design credits include PUPPET ON A CHAIN (1970), JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and THE THREE MUSKETEERS (both 1973), ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL (1974), ROBIN AND MARIAN (1976), SUPERMAN (1978), SUPERMAN II (1980), GREEN ICE (1981), FINDERS KEEPERS and SCARAB (both 1984), FLESH+BLOOD (1985) and RETURN OF THE MUSKETEERS (1989).

Blake designed frequently for television, beginning in the mid-1980s, and worked on many Spanish and other European films before returning to mainstream features in the mid-1990s. Subsequent credits include LOOKING FOR RICHARD (1996), WHAT DREAMS MAY COME (1998), PRESENCE OF MIND (1999), GOOD AFTERNOON (2001), CARMEN and THE RECKONING (both 2003), THE BRIDGE OF SAN LUIS REY (2004), and TIRANTE EL BLANCO and GOYA'S GHOSTS (both 2006).
