Born in London, England. Since 1976, Julian Chagrin has been living in Israel. Best known for his two Oscar® nominations for the live action shorts THE CONCERT (1974) and THE MORNING SPIDER (1975), Chagrin also played the mime tennis player in BLOW-UP (1966). Well-known in Israel as a comic performer, Chagrin has been producing both local and international television comedy programs, such as "The Orchestra," a 10-part half-hour comedy series, which won the 1986 Gold Rose of Montreux.

Other notable screen credits include DANGER ROUTE (1967), THE BLISS OF MRS. BLOSSOM (1968), ALFRED THE GREAT (1969), ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND (1972), THE GREAT McGONAGALL (1974), a series of Cannon Movie Tales: THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES, SNOW WHITE, RUMPELSTILTSKIN, SLEEPING BEAUTY and RED RIDING HOOD (1987-1989), and MI HA'ABBA? / WHO'S THE FATHER? (1997).

His wife is actress and comedienne Rolanda Chagrin. His father, Romanian-born Francis Chagrin (1905-1972), composed music for British films and television from 1939 to 1965.
