George Coe

Attended both New York's Hofstra University and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. His 1968 spoof of Ingmar Bergman's WILD STRAWBERRIES and THE SEVENTH SEAL, DE DÜVA: THE DOVE was nominated for an Academy Award. On Broadway, he appeared in the original cast of Sondheim's Company (1970). One of the original cast members on the first three episodes of "Saturday Night Live" in 1975. After that, he made several more uncredited appearances on the show during the first season, including the prison warden in the classic "Lifer Follies" sketch. He and Anthony Lover collaborated again on the 1975 feature DISTANCE.

As an actor, Coe's feature film appearances include THE STEPFORD WIVES (1975), KRAMER VS. KRAMER (1979), THE FIRST DEADLY SIN (1980), BUSTIN' LOOSE (1981), MICKI + MAUDE (1984), REMO WILLIAMS: THE ADVENTURE BEGINS (1985), BLIND DATE (1987), COUSINS (1989), THE END OF INNOCENCE (1990), THE MIGHTY DUCKS (1992), GOSPA (1995), THE OMEGA CODE (1999), BIG EDEN and DIAMOND MEN (both 2000), and TED'S MBA* (*MANY BRIEF AFFAIRS) (2007). Coe frequently appears on television as doctors, politicians and priests in both series and made-for-TV movies.
