Danilo Donati
(1926 - 2001)

Born in Suzzara, Italy. Italian costume designer, production designer, set decorator and art director who began in films as costume desinger for THE GREAT WAR (1959). He designed costumes for 6 of Fellini's films: SATYRICON (1969), ROMA (1972, also production designer), AMARCORD (1973, also production designer), FELLINI'S CASSANOVA (1976, also production designer), GINGER AND FRED (1986) and INTERVISTA (1987, also production designer). Other notable credits in a long career include art director for CALIGULA (1979, also costumes) and LA VITA È BELLA / LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL (1997, also production designer & costumes); set decorator for FLASH GORDON (1980, plus costumes); production designer and costumes for PINOCCHIO (2002); costume designer for DECAMERON II (1970), THE CANTERBURY TALES (1971) and RED SONIA (1985).
