Fred R. Feitshans Jr.
(1908 - 1987)

at Hollywood High, 1929 Educated at Hollywood High School and USC. Started editing Hollywood "B" pictures at U-A and Paramount in the early 1940s (MY SON, MY SON, 1940; PIRATES ON HORSEBACK, 1941; etc.) and stayed with them until the early 1960s. Moved into teen beach pictures in 1964 with MUSCLE BEACH PARTY. Stayed with them for a while (BEACH BLANKET BINGO, DR. GOODFOOT AND THE BINKIN MACHINE and HOW TO STUFF A WILD BIKINI, all 1965; THE GHOST IN THE INVISIBLE BIKINI, 1966). Then came WILD IN THE STREETS (1968) -- which was also aimed at the youth market -- a wild, psychedelic ride about the hip kids versus the "over 30's." Fietshans finished his career with BUNNY O'HARE (1971), FROGS (1972) and his final film, DILLINGER (1973). He co-produced and co-directed ARCTIC FURY (1949).

His son is producer Buzz Feitshans, who is father to director of photography Buzz Feitshans IV.
