Jerry Fielding
(1922 - 1980)

Born in Pittsburgh, PA; educated at the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pittsburgh PA. A composer in Hollywood from the early 1960s to 1980, Fielding was a frequent collaborator with directors Sam Peckinpah and Michael Winner. Notable (non-nominated) film scoring credits include ADVISE AND CONSENT (1962), JOHNNY GOT HIS GUN (1971), BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA and THE GAMBLER (both 1974), THE KILLER ELITE and THE BLACK BIRD (both 1975), THE BAD NEWS BEARS and THE ENFORCER (both 1976), DEMON SEED and THE GAUNTLET (both 1977), THE BIG SLEEP, GRAY LADY DOWN and SEMI-TOUGH (all 1978), BEYOND THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE and ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ (both 1979), and FUNERAL HOME and BELOW THE BELT (both 1980). He also composed extensively for television ("Hogan's Heroes," "McMillan and Wife," "Mission: Impossible", et al.).
