American sound and picture editor who worked primarily in television, with credits in TV movies such as "The Connection" (1973), "The Fantastic Seven" (1979), "Kojak: Ariana" (1989) and "Kojak: None So Blind" (1990), and the series "The Equalizer" (1985).
Gay's occasional feature films include THE EXORCIST (1973), SHOOT IT BLACK, SHOOT IT BLUE (1974), SHOCK WAVES (1977), HONEYSUCKLE ROSE (1980), HOSSZÚ VÁGTA / LONG RIDE and JÁTSZANI KELL / LILY IN LOVE (both 1984), LEADER OF THE BAND (1987), and his last feature, FLY BY NIGHT (1993). He was an associate editor on Friedkin's THE FRENCH CONNECTION (1971) and a dialogue loop editor on STARTING OVER (1979). He was an additional picture editor on "The Stand" TV mini-series (1994).
