Born Los Angeles, CA, grew up in Tucson, AZ. Served in the US Navy, 1953-57. Educated at Columbia University (New York City), University of Arizona (Tucson), and University of California, Berkeley. Program producer and station manager for Pacifica Radio, 1960-64; assistant to executive story editor of Columbia Pictures, 1964-66. Lived in Ireland, England, France, and Switzerland 1966-84. Fluent in French and German. Directed documentary films and in the theater. Collaborated with Vincent Bugliosi on the book Final Verdict: The True Account of the Murder of John F. Kennedy (1998).

Other writing credits include ULYSSES (1967, also assoc. prod.), STEPPENWOLF / IL LUPO DELLA STEPPA (1974, also director) and the teleplay for "Survive the Savage Sea" (1992, made-for-TV movie).
