Anne of the Thousand Days (1969) Born in England, UK. An accomplished playwright, he began writing for British television in 1966 ("Armchair Theatre"). His first screenplay collaboration, ANNE OF THE THOUSAND DAYS (1969), was nominated for an Academy Award. Other credits writing alone or in collaboration include THE MIND OF MR. SOAMES (1970), MARY, QUEEN OF SCOTS (1971), "Elizabeth R" (1971, TV mini-series, episode "The Lion's Club"), THE WHISTLE BLOWER (1986, from his novel) and "Nostromo" (1996, TV mini-series).
