Robert Kaufman
(1931 - 1991)
Biography from Katz's Film Encyclopedia

Born in New York City. A comedy specialist, he wrote for TV as well as for light films. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his highly amusing screenplay of DIVORCE AMERICAN STYLE (1967) and scored nicely with the Dracula spoof, LOVE AT FIRST BITE (1970). But the level of humor in much of the rest of his material was at times painfully sophomoric.

Other notable writing credits (alone or in collaboration) include "Combat" (TV series, 1966), DR. GOLDFOOT AND THE BIKINI MACHINE (1965), "The Monkees" (1 episode, 1968), FREEBIE AND THE BEAN (1974) and HARRY AND WALTER GO TO NEW YORK (1976).
