Sarah Kernochan

Born in New York City. Writer and documentary filmmaker whose stories and screenplays, written alone or in collaboration, have been produced as feature films: NINE 1/2 WEEKS (1986), DANCERS (a.k.a. "Giselle", 1987), IMPROMPTU (1991), SOMMERSBY (1993), STRIKE! (1998, renamed "All I Wanna Do", 2000, also director) and WHAT LIES BENEATH (2000, story). Both her documentaries have won Oscars®.

Kernochan is married to writer-director James Lapine.
