Robert Knudson
(1925 - 2006)

Hollywood sound recordist from the early 1950s and, after 1972, sound re-recordist and dubbing mixer, sometimes billed as "Buzz" Knudson. Began dubbing CABARET (1972); other notable (non-nominated) credits include SAVE THE TIGER (1972), ELECTRA GLIDE IN BLUE (1973), SHAMPOO and THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN (both 1975), BOUND FOR GLORY (1976), AIRPORT '77 (1977), EYES OF LAURA MARS (1978), THE BLUES BROTHERS (1980), TARZAN, THE APE MAN (1981), AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN (1982), FLASHDANCE, TRADING PLACES and THE LORDS OF DISCIPLINE (all 1983), ROMANCING THE STONE and THE KARATE KID (both 1984), WITNESS, TWICE IN A LIFETIME, SPIES LIKE US and THE COLOR PURPLE (all 1985), THE KARATE KID, PART II, and NUTS (1987), BEACHES (1988), MAJOR LEAGUE, THE KARATE KID III and SEA OF LOVE (1989). He then retired from the business, having participated in the post-production of some of the finest films of the 1970s and 1980s.
