Art director and production designer in films from the mid-1950s through the early1990s. Began at RKO in 1956, then moved to Fox in 1957. Worked at Disney beginning in 1963 and continued there until 1984, but he did work for other studios during that time. Other notable (non-nominated) credits include: (As art director) RETURN OF THE FLY and THE ALLIGATOR PEOPLE (both 1959), THE INCREDIBLE JOURNEY (1963), 30 episodes of the TV series "Disneyland" from 1963-1962, THE HAPPIEST MILLIONAIRE (1967), THE LOVE BUG (1968), NAPOLEON AND SAMANTHA (1972), SUPERMAN (1973), THE APPLE DUMPLING GANG and ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN (both 1975), THE BLACK HOLE (1978), TRON (1982), SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES (1983) and COUNTRY (1984, also prod. designer); (as production designer) FREAKY FRIDAY (1976), PETE'S DRAGON (1977), and BABY... SECRET OF THE LOST LEGEND (1985). He returned to RKO in 1987 as production designer of the TV series "Beauty and the Beast."
