Born in England. British art director and production designer who entered films in 1955 with THE MARCH HARE. Other notable credits include: (As art director) THE DAY THE EARTH CAUGHT FIRE (1961), THE MOON-SPINNERS (1964) and THE HEROES OF TELEMARK (1965); (As production designer) PAPILLON (1973), BUFFALO BILL AND THE INDIANS, OR SITTING BULL'S HISTORY LESSON (1976), THE DEEP (1977), DUNE (1984), THE CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR (1986), TAI-PAN (1986) and RENT-A-COP (1988).
