John Morris

Born in Elizabeth, NJ. American composer who started writing for Mel Brooks' films in the late 1960s, an association that continued for 23 years and 10 films, from THE PRODUCERS (1968) until LIFE STINKS (1991). Other notable (non-nominated, non-Brooks) credits include THE ADVENTURE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES' SMARTER BROTHER (1975), THE IN-LAWS (1979), YELLOWBEARD (1983), THE WOMAN IN RED (1984) CLUE (1985), HAUNTED HONEYMOON (1986), DIRTY DANCING (1987), IRONWEED (1988), SECOND SIGHT (1989). Since the mid-1980s, Morris has composed mostly for television.
