All of the first three short documentaries he produced were nominated for Academy Awards. He shared an Oscar® for 1973's PRINCETON: A SEARCH FOR ANSWERS. Other credits inlcude DISTANT HARMONY (1987), DEPRESSION (1988), A PLACE FOR MADNESS (1994) and two episodes of "Frontline" (1990 & 1995). He made the TV documentaries "F. Scott Fitzgerald: Winter Dreams" for the "American Masters" series on PBS (2001) and "Ernest Hemingway: Rivers to the Sea" (2005, TV).
