Working in short films as well as features, he also directed and wrote ...LES BORGNES SONT ROIS / ONE-EYED MEN ARE KINGS (1974), in which a man fakes being blind; and PHOTO-SOUVENIR (1978, TV - FR 3), in which Jean-Claude Carrière plays a surgeon who slowly sinks in a maze of despair: Still pictures, taken by him with a Polaroid camera that he got from one of his hospital patients, start to show confusing images and eerie omissions.
