Born in Talia Rose Coppola in Lake Success, Long Island, NY. The younger sister of director Francis Ford Coppola, she attended the Yale School of Drama and appeared in several minor Roger Corman films under her maiden name before getting her first big break in her brother's THE GODFATHER (1972). She was nominated for an Academy Award and won the New York Film Critics Award for her performance in that film's sequel, THE GODFATHER PART II (1974), in the role of Connie Corleone, Al Pacino's sluttish sister. She gave another memorable performance in ROCKY (1976), in the role of the film hero's shy, plain girl friend, then wife in ROCKY II, III, IV & V. Divorced from composer David Shire, she married producer Jack Schwartzman, with whom she began producing films under the banner TaliaFilm II. She was executive producer of HYPER SAPIEN: PEOPLE FROM ANOTHER STAR (1986), producer of LIONHEART (1987) and associate producer of THE LANDLADY (1998).
