Harry Stradling Jr.

Born in New York City; son of cinematographer Harry Stradling, Sr. (1901 - 1970); nephew of silent film cinematographer Walter Stradling (c. 1859 - 1918). Worked as uncredited assistant camera on GASLIGHT (1944) and WATCH THE BIRDIE (1950). Began in television with "Gunsmoke" (1965-1967), and "Cimarron Strip" (1967). First feature was SYNANON for Columbia in 1965. Other notable (non-nominated) credits include SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF! (1969), LITTLE BIG MAN and DIRTY DINGUS MAGEE (both 1970), SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL GUNFIGHTER (1971), THE MAN WHO LOVED CAT DANCING (1973), MCQ and BANK SHOT (both 1974), MITCHELL, BITE THE BULLET and ROOSTER COGBURN (all 1975), THE BIG BUS and MIDWAY (both 1976), CONVOY (1978), PROPHESY (1979), S.O.B. and BUDDY BUDDY (both1981), A FINE MESS (1986), BLIND DATE (1987) and his last film, CADDYSHACK II (1988).
