Born in Söderhamn, Sweden; educated at the Academy of Fine Arts, Stockholm and the Dramatic Institute, Stockholm (art direction). Scandinavian art director who designed the later films of Ingmar Bergman, earning an Oscar for FANNY & ALEXANDER (1983).
