Born in Paris. Luminous leading lady of the Paris stage and French TV and films. A niece of actor/director Jean-Louis Barrault, she trained with René Simon and later at the Paris Conservatoire and appeared in many stage and TV productions before making an impressive screen debut in Eric Rohmer's MA NUIT CHEZ MAUDE/MY NIGHT AT MAUD'S (1969). Other notable screen credits include THE MEDUSA TOUCH (1978), STARDUST MEMORIES (1980), JÉSUS OF MONTRÉAL (1989), DAMES GALANTES (1990), L'AMORE NECESSARIO (1991), BONSOIR and LA PROSSIMA VOLTA IL FUOCO (both 1994), OBSESSION and C'EST LA TANGENTE QUE JE PRÉFÈRE (both 1997), LA DILETTANTE (1999), AZZURRO (2000), LES AMANTS DE MOGADOR (2002), L'EMPREINTE DE L'ANGE (2004) and LA DISPARUE DE DEAUVILLE (2007). Barrault also works extensively in movies for French television.
