Jon Bloom is an Oscar®- and Emmy®-nominated filmmaker with broad experience as a director, producer, writer, cinematographer and editor. With over three decades in the motion picture industry, Bloom is a renowned specialist in entertainment marketing.

A multi award-winning filmmaker, Bloom counts among his honors an Emmy nomination, a Clio Award plus six Clio nominations, eight Hollywood Reporter Key Art Trailer Awards and many other film festival honors including an Academy Award nomination as Producer and Director of the live-action short film OVERNIGHT SENSATION (1983). Based upon the W. Somerset Maugham short story, The Colonel's Lady, it stars Robert Loggia, Louise Fletcher and Shari Belafonte. In addition to the Oscar nomination, the film won first place awards at the Houston, Aspen, Birmingham, Torrance and American Film Festivals.

A Governor of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Bloom also is chair of the Short Films and Feature Animation Branch. Additionally, he has created and produced for the Academy, its Annual theatrical trailer promoting the Oscar telecast plus seven tribute montages for Academy Awards Broadcasts.

His production company Bloomfilm, founded in 1987, provides the entertainment industry with audio/visual marketing materials for promotion and advertising. It specializes in creative development and production of theatrical trailers and teaser trailers for movie theatres, television and radio spots for broadcast, special concept shooting, main title sequences, special graphics, documentaries, music videos, montages and product reels for special sales purposes. Bloomfilm continues to build upon Bloom's long term reputation as a top trailer-maker, compiling an impressive list of feature campaigns.

Bloom's early work experience includes stints as an assistant director with Robert Wise and Robert Altman, and as an assistant editor to Francis Ford Coppola on GODFATHER II. His years in motion picture advertising also encompasse his time as a principal and founder of both Intralink and Seiniger/Bloom Productions, and before that, as a producer of trailers and director of behind-the-scenes documentaries for Kaleidoscope Films.
