Born in Northridge, CA. Sound and sound effects editor who entered American film in 1957 with Robert Altman's THE DELINQUENTS. Other notable credits include ELMER GANTRY (1960), THE EXORCIST (1973), THE KILLER ELITE (1975), GRIZZLY (1976), THE DEEP (1977), CONVOY (1978), THE CHINA SYNDROME and 1941 (both 1979), FIRST BLOOD (1982), RISKY BUSINESS (1983), THE LAST STARFIGHTER and RED DAWN (both 1984), LITTLE TREASURE and COMMANDO (both 1985), THE BOY WHO COULD FLY (1986), EXTREME PREJUDICE (1987), DEEPSTAR SIX (1989), CRAZY PEOPLE (1990), THUNDERHEART (1992), MR JONES (1993), CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS (1994) and (as sound effects consultant) HIGHLANDER III: THE SORCERER (both 1994), UNDER SIEGE 2: DARK TERRITORY (1995), and his last film, SNOW WHITE: A TALE OF TERROR (1997).
