Born in New York City. A principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award® for her first film, THE TURNING POINT (1977). All three of her films (THE TURNING POINT, 1977; NIJINSKY, 1980; and DANCERS, 1987) were directed by Herbert Ross, her godfather and a veteran choreographer.
