Born in Baltimore, MD. Writer and producer for American film and television. Started out writing for television from the early 1960s until the late 1970s: "The Bullwinkle Show," "Fractured Flickers," "My Mother the Car," "Get Smart," and he wrote and was executive producer for Jim Brooks' "Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Rhoda" and "Lou Grant." Other notable feature credits, alone or in collaboration, include BUTCH AND SUNDANCE: THE EARLY DAYS (1979), SECOND TIME LUCKY and JUST THE WAY YOU ARE (both 1984), JUST BETWEEN FRIENDS (1986, also producer & director) and several made-for-TV movies and specials.
