David Butler
(1927 - 2006)

Born in Larkhall, Lankashire, Scotland. He adapted Alister McLean's book Bear Island to the screen in 1979. All his other work was in television: "The Strauss Family" (1972, mini-series), "Within These Walls" (1974, series - creator), "Jesus of Nazareth" (1977, mini-series, add'l dialogue), "Lillie" (1978, mini-series), "Disraeli" (1979, mini-series), "Marco Polo" (1982, mini-series), "The Scarlet and the Black" (1983, TV), "Blood Royal: William the Conqueror" (1990, TV), and "De terre et de sang" / "Blood and Dust" (1992, TV).
