Born in Los Angeles, CA. Noted gospel performer and composer; nominated for an NAACP Image Award as Outstanding Gospel Artist in 1997; and nominated for Grammys® in 1998 & 2000. His music has been used for MARJOE (1972), THE COLOR PURPLE (1985), ONCE UPON A FOREST (1993), and A TIME TO KILL (1996).
