Born in Chur, Switzerland. Conceptual designer and creature creator for film, television and video games who entered Swiss film directing short films and documentaries in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Other notable credits include creature design for THE INTRUDER WITHIN (1981, TV), alien designer for ALIEN (1979) and ALIENS (1986), conceptual designs for TEITO TAISEN / TOKYO: THE LAST MAGALOPOLIS (1989), creature designer for ALIEN3 (1992) and ALIEN: RESURRECTION (1997), "species" designer for SPECIES (1995) and SPECIES II (1998).
