Born in Mill Valley, CA. Tall (5'11"), striking granddaughter of celebrated writer Ernest Hemingway whose performance as Woody Allen's high school-age girlfriend in MANHATTAN (1979) earned her an Oscar® nomination. Hemingway made her feature debut with her older sister Margaux (1955-1996) in the controversial rape drama LIPSTICK (1976). She starred as a lesbian pentathlete in PERSONAL BEST (1982) and as murdered Playmate model and actress Dorothy Stratton in Bob Fosse's STAR 80 (1983). She then treaded water in a string of less than successful features including SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE (1987), Blake Edward's SUNSET (1988), Tom Mankiewicz's DELIRIOUS (1991), and John Mellencamp's FALLING FROM GRACE (1992).

Hemingway's small screen appearances have garnered respectable attention. Besides several well received TV movies (her debut I WANT TO KEEP MY BABY, 1976, as an unwed mother, and as an Israeli-trained fighter pilot in STEEL THE SKY, 1988 and a miniseries (AMERIKA, 1987), she played sexy divorce lawyer Sydney Guilford, a regular role on the intelligent courtroom drama series "Civil Wars" (1991-93).

Other notable big screen credits include THE MEAN SEASON and CREATOR (both 1985), THE SUICIDE CLUB (1988), BAD MOON (1996), DECONSTRUCTING HARRY, ROAD ENDS and LITTLE MEN (all 1997), THE CONTENDER (2000), LONDINIUM and PERFUME (both 2001), AMERICAN REEL (2003), TIME OF CHANGE (2005), IN HER LINE OF FIRE (2006), GREETINGS FROM EARTH and BUSTER'S CLASS PROJECT (both 2007), and CHATHAM (2008).

Hemingway married writer-producer-director Stephen Crisman in 1984. They have two daughters.
