Argentine documentary filmmaker whose other credits include SUSANA (1980) and MY HOME, MY PRISON (1993). She is best known for her Academy Award nominated film which she co-directed and produced with Lourdes Portillo, LAS MADRES DE PLAZA DE MAYO (1985), about the courageous struggle of Argentine women who were seeking to find their "disappeared children." She also co-produced and directed the award winning film LA OFRENDA: THE DAYS OF THE DEAD (1989) about the Mexican holiday celebrating and honoring the dead. Her film SUSANA is about being a Latin woman growing up in a conservative and repressive environment.
