Sharon Oreck has been a film, video and commercial producer since 1972. Between 1984 and 2000 she was the owner-operator of O Pictures, where she produced thousands of music videos, commercials and short films. She also produced three feature films and several feature length documentaries.
Before 1984, she produced or line-produced seven feature films, including portions of Roland Joffe's THE KILLING FIELDS (1984). After 1984, as one of the pioneers in her field, she produced over 600 music videos, including hits by Madonna, Sting, Mick Jagger, Prince, The Eurythmics, Janet Jackson, Metallica, Tony Bennett, Gregory Hines, Lou Reed, Lenny Kravitz, Paula Abdul, X, Iggy Pop, Bette Midler, Tracy Chapman, Roseanne Cash, Herb Alpert, Bonnie Raitt, Don Henley, Raffi, Anita Baker, Dolly Parton, Sugarcubes, Björk, Michael Jackson , Beastie Boys, Ice T, David Byrne, Clint Black, Bon Jovi, U2, Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, A Ha, David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, INXS, Salt n Pepa, En Vogue, Beavis and Butthead, Queensryche, Lucious Jackson, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Waits, Roy Orbison, Seal, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Bush, Jewel, Vanessa Williams, Goo Goo Dolls, Isaac Hayes, etc. She has also produced numerous music documentaries, and TALES OF MEETING AND PARTING (1984), DAMASCUS (1993), SKIPPED PARTS (2000) and 14 WOMEN (2007). She has one Academy Award® nomination (1984) a Grammy® award (1990) two Women In Film awards (1989 and 1991) and about twenty MTV awards. For the last five years, she has been resting, writing her memoirs and trying to save our national union from destruction by promoting the cause of women in politics.
