Born in Los Angeles, CA; educated at California State University, Northbridge (economics). Began his film career with The Mirisch Company and worked as a production manager on films such as WEST SIDE STORY (1961), SEVEN DAYS IN MAY (1964), THE FORTUNE COOKIE (1966), THE PARTY (1968). Palmer is best known for a long-running association with director Norman Jewison which has encompassed features such as THE LANDLORD (1970), FIDDLER ON THE ROOF (1971), ...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL (1979), AGNES OF GOD (1985) and MOONSTRUCK (1987).
