Born in Fort Sheridan, IL. Acclaimed designer (notably of films directed by former husband Peter Bogdanovich, whom she divorced in 1970) who entered American film as Nancy Sinatra's stunt double in THE WILD ANGELS (1966). Other notable design credits include TARGETS (1968, also story), THE LAST PICTURE SHOW (1971, also uncredited writer), WHAT'S UP, DOC? (1972), PAPER MOON and THE THIEF WHO CAME TO DINNER (both 1973), THE BAD NEWS BEARS and A STAR IS BORN (both 1976), YOUNG DOCTORS IN LOVE (1982), THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS (1983) and THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK (1987).

As a producer, her credits include PRETTY BABY (1978, assoc. producer & screenplay), BROADCAST NEWS (1987, exec. producer), SAY ANYTHING and THE WAR OF THE ROSES (both 1989, both exec. producer), I'LL DO ANYTHING (1994), BOTTLE ROCKET and THE EVENING STAR (both 1996), and MUERTAS and HAVE DREAMS, WILL TRAVEL (both 2007, both exec. producer).

As a writer, alone or in collaboration, she wrote GOOD LUCK, MISS WYCKOFF (1979), LIEBERMAN IN LOVE (1995 - teleplay) and A MAP OF THE WORLD (1999 - screenplay).
