Film editor who entered American film in 1951 with Robert Siodmak's THE WHISTLE AT EATON FALLS (aka "Richer Than the Earth") at Columbia. Other notable credits during the 1950s include WALK EAST ON BEACON! (1952), MISTER ROCK AND ROLL (1957) and "Decoy" (1958-59, TV series). In the 1960s Ross worked as a music editor for such features and compilations as THE CREATION OF WOMAN (1960), DAYS OF THRILLS AND LAUGHTER (also supervising editor) and THE HUSTLER (both 1961), LAUREL AND HARDY'S LAUGHING 20'S (1965) and THE FURTHER PERILS OF LAUREL AND HARDY (1968). He also was film editor for DIARY OF A BACHELOR (1964) and WHO KILLED TEDDY BEAR (1965).
Returning to full-time film editing in 1970, Ross' subsequent credits (alone or in collaboration) include THE CROSS AND THE SWITCHBLADE and I NEVER SANG FOR MY FATHER (both 1970), SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE (1971), FUN AND GAMES and SALTY (both 1973), CRIES and THE NOAH (both 1975), SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT and POLK COUNTY POT PLANE (both 1977), JAGUAR LIVES! (1979), MR. NO LEGS (1981) and MASTERBLASTER (1987), as well as a couple of made-for-TV movies.
