Mark Stetson

Visual effects supervisor and consultant who entered American film as a model maker for STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE (1979). Stetson gained international recognition in 1982 for his miniature effects work in Ridley Scott's BLADE RUNNER. Other notable (non-nominated) credits include THE RIGHT STUFF (1983), GHOST BUSTERS and THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION (both 1984), SPACECAMP and SOLARBABIES (both 1986), DIE HARD (1988), EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990), LIFE STINKS and BUGSY (both 1991), BATMAN RETURNS and TOYS (both 1992), THE HUDSUCKER PROXY and THE SHADOW (both 1994), THE FIFTH ELEMENT (1997), SUPERNOVA (2000), QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, THE SCORPION KING and LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS (all 2002) and CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE, PETER PAN and THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING (all 2003), and STARSHIP DAVE (scheduled for 2008).
