Art director and production designer who entered American film in 1979 as art director for STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE. Notable production design credits include SOUTHERN COMFORT (1981), 48 HRS. (1982), NEW MAGIC and BRAINSTORM (both 1983), STREETS OF FIRE (1984), BREWSTER'S MILLIONS and COMMANDO (both 1985), PREDATOR (1987, also assoc. producer), RED HEAT (1988), DIE HARD 2 and THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE (both 1990), RAMBLING ROSE (1991), CLIFFHANGER (1993), BAD BOYS and THREE WISHES (both 1995). He also worked in series television and made-for-TV movies. Vallone was found dead on 15 March, 2004 in a hot tub at his Park City, Utah residence, an apparent drowning victim.
